Avechi: One stop Online Shopping for Xiaomi in Kenya

Xiaomi Inc is a Chinese electronics and software company headquartered in Beijing.  Xiaomi designs, develops, and sells Smartphones, Mobile apps, laptops and related consumer electronics.  The company was founded in 2010 by serial entrepreneur Lei Jun. Lei Jun believed that high-quality
technology doesn’t need to cost a fortune. Renown for its “light-on-the-pocket but heavy-on-specs phones”,  Xiaomi has been on a meteoric rise, from startup to a major player in just a few years. With online shopping on a steady rise, Xiaomi is spreading its wings globally at a very first pace. Avechi offers Xiaomi products locally at very competitive prices.

The company’s first product was Android software, with its first phone — the Xiaomi Mi1 — having been released in August 2011. After that, Xiaomi’s rise to success was swift. In 2014, the company sold 61 million phones, more than triple the number it moved in 2013. Xiaomi is the world’s 4th most valuable technology start-up after it received US$1.1 billion funding from investors, making Xiaomi’s valuation more than US$46 billion.  As of 2017 Xiaomi was the world’s 5th largest smartphone company.

Xiaomi  is the biggest tech startup in the world and is the third biggest smartphone maker globally by sales. Initially, the company did not own any physical stores, selling exclusively from its online store. In recent years, they have opened numerous stores exclusively in China to combat the strategies of other low-cost competitors in Chinese markets. The company enjoys a large market base in China but has had its products launched in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Indonesia and Brazil. Most of its products are sold online. In Kenya and East Africa, Xiaomi smartphones are on the rise among users.  No doubt, Xiaomi is stamping its footprint across the world to become a global brand.
